Neil Biswas

Neil Biswas (1989) is a screenwriter, playwright and director.

He is best known for his TV drama Bradford Riots, which he wrote and directed. It was broadcast to great acclaim on Channel 4 in 2006, winning the Arts Council England Decibel Award.

His stage-plays include Crash (Croydon Warehouse), Skirmishes (Etcetera), Overhear (National Tour – Leicester Haymarket, Bristol New Vic, Brixton Shaw) and Skin (Soho Theatre Company). He has also written for BBC Radio Four, The Royal Court YPT, English National Opera and Tara Arts.

He co-wrote the Talkback Productions’ ten-part adaptation of In a Land of Plenty (screened on BBC2 in 2000). He also wrote the TV serials Second Generation (Channel 4) and The Take (Sky 1), and directed two episodes of Skins 4 (Company Pictures).

He has recently written an episode of the new series Sinbad (Impossible Pictures/Sky). He is about to direct his original feature film Darkness Visible (Newscope Films), and is currently writing a new drama series for HBO.
