Ceri Thomas

Ceri Thomas joined the University of Oxford as Director of Public Affairs and Communications in autumn 2016 to lead the Public Affairs Directorate. His team develop public understanding of the University, promote effective communication, organise over 60 flagship University events each year and work to build community engagement and government relations.

Beginning a career in broadcasting as a producer at London’s LBC (London Broadcasting Company) in 1989, Ceri has had a distinguished career in both radio and television. He moved to BBC Radio 4 in 1991 where he became Editor of the Today programme, later serving as Head of BBC News Programmes and Editor of the BBC’s Panorama.

Ceri is a graduate of the University of Manchester and was a Nieman Fellow at Harvard University from 2004-05.
