James Openshaw

BA MA Leeds; Philosophy

James Openshaw is a Stipendiary Lecturer in Philosophy at the Hall. He recently completed his D.Phil thesis, Singular Representation, at the University of Oxford. His research is supported by a Postdoctoral Award from the Philosophical Fellowship Fund.


James teaches the first-year General Philosophy and Logic papers, along with Knowledge & Reality and Philosophy of Logic and Language.

Research interests

Philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, and metaphysics.
