Janice French

Janice is Director of Faculty Services at the Said Business School, a role in which she oversees the provision of support for the School’s faculty in the areas of HR, research and impact, academic planning, and academic area administration.  As a member of the senior management team at the School, she contributes to operational and strategic planning and leads on a number of initiatives including the School’s submission for the Athena SWAN Charter.  Prior to joining the School, Janice was Head of Administration in the Department of Politics and International Relations, Oxford University for over five years and has also held senior administrative positions in the Clinical Medical School at Cambridge University,  the Gatsby Computational Neuroscience Unit at University College London, and the then Graduate School of the Environment at Imperial College.   Following completion of a BA in Performing Arts and an MA in Arts Administration, Janice’s early career was in dance administration at the Royal Academy of Dance before moving to the Research Foundation of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, which was the bridge to her career in higher education management.  In 2015 she completed an MBA in Higher Education Management at the Institute of Education, University College London, and has an active interest in policy and trend developments in higher education. She was elected a Fellow by Special Election at St Edmund Hall in 2016.
