Sarah Karacs

Sarah Karacs (2007, German and Czech) is a journalist and a former winner of the St Edmund Hall Philip Geddes student journalism prize. She graduated from the Hall in 2012, heading for China where she lived, taught, and wrote for two years before returning to London to complete a Masters in newspaper journalism at City University.

Before that, she had interned in Berlin for Der Spiegel and written for Cherwell, Isis, the Prague Post among other publications. She was awarded the St Edmund Hall Philip Geddes prize in 2010. She currently reports for the South China Morning Post, where she can work on a diverse range of news and feature stories that help tell the fascinating story of Hong Kong in its most politically turbulent time since its handover in 1997.
