Matriculation Ceremony

Matriculation is the ceremony that marks your formal admission to the University. Attendance is compulsory. If you are new to Oxford University, you must attend this ceremony.  If you are unable to matriculate on the Saturday for reasons of religion or belief, you should let the Academic Records Manager know; she will arrange for you to matriculate at a ceremony on the Thursday at the end of term. Please note that guests are not able to attend any of the day’s events.

A list of names of those expected to attend will be circulated by email. Visiting Students do not matriculate, but may attend for the photo – sub-fusc must be worn.
