Dr Daniel Green

College Lecturer in Russian

Daniel Green is a Departmental Lecturer and College Lecturer in Russian.

Daniel completed his PhD at Harvard University with a thesis entitled ‘Dressing Russia’s Golden Age: Literary Representations of Clothing in the Era of Nicholas I (1825–1855)’. He is currently developing this research into a book and expanding its scope to cover the rise of the Russian novel, technological developments in clothing manufacture, and social changes up to the 1880s. His other research interests include material culture, semiotics, the history of censorship, intellectual thought, and narrative theory. He is also co-author of an intermediate Russian language textbook, which is forthcoming from Routledge.
