William R. Miller Sub-Dean

I am the Sub-Dean for the William R. Miller building, located on Dawson Street. My doctorate is in Philosophy, and my general research interests include metaphilosophy (yes, the philosophy of philosophy!), analyticity (or conceptual truth), Kant’s critical philosophy, later Wittgenstein, Gilbert Ryle, philosophy of language, and epistemology. Besides decanal duties here in Teddy, I am also tutor for Moral and Political Philosophy within the Law Faculty, as well as administrator for an academic blog which discusses sociolegal and housing issues (Housing After Grenfell).

I have received training in counselling/welfare, first aid, and fire safety. Additionally, in my time in role, I have helped out with a variety of sensitive welfare cases, and so I am more than happy to listen and talk through any issues, no matter your background or concern. I am generally stationed at WRM, but if you see me around main site, don’t hesitate to say hello if you’d like to chat!
