Assistant Junior Dean

Shannon Russell is the Assistant Junior Dean, based at the main site on Queen’s Lane.

Hello everyone! I am the Assistant Junior Dean, based at the main site on Queen’s Lane.

I am originally from Scotland, but I spent a couple of years living in Canada (most of that time in Vancouver). I am currently doing my DPhil in Law, looking comparatively at the law of sexual offences in England & Wales and Canada, and lecture in criminology, policing and law. In my spare time, I enjoy needlecraft, hiking (especially at home in Scotland, and my second home in Vancouver) and learning to play the piano.

I have undertaken Junior Dean training with the Oxford University Counselling Service, as well as further workshops in first aid and sexual violence response. Please do feel free to reach out to me to discuss anything whatsoever, whether that be a problem you are facing, concerns for other people, or just to have chat.
