St Edmund Hall is delighted to say that it has raised over £6.7m out of £15m towards its Norham St Edmund development of 127 student bedrooms and communal facilities housed in a mixture of three new buildings and a remodelled Victorian villa at the Hall’s North oxford accommodation site.  This is set in beautifully landscaped and biodiverse gardens with the site overall achieving an 88% biodiversity net gain. Each new building will also be Passivhaus certified which is the industry gold standard for energy-efficient buildings.

Teddy Hall is one of only a few colleges which cannot house all of its undergraduates for the duration of their course, leaving students to find their own private accommodation in one of UK’s the most expensive cities. To address this, we want to house all undergraduates who wish to live in college for all of their course in high quality and sustainably designed accommodation. Furthermore, this will give our students a £2,000 housing saving per year.

Norham St Edmund embodies care for two precious things – our students and our planet. The creation of 127 bedrooms and communal facilities at the Norham St Edmund site (17 Norham Gardens) will help move the Hall towards becoming net zero in energy use, improve access, encourage biodiversity, and catalyse a creative and inclusive college culture.

We want to thank every Aularian and friend of the Hall who has donated to this once-in-a-generation development as any size gift is making a real difference in making this development a reality.  You can give a gift or find out more on our HALLmarks Campaign website as the development is part of our wider £50m campaign to invest in the physical, intellectual, cultural and pastoral aspects of the College, ensuring Teddy Hall continues to deliver a truly aspirational and inclusive experience for all.
