Lunch with the Visiting Students

6 Dec 2023

On Friday 24 November, Week 7 Michaelmas Term, the Tutor for Visiting Students, Dr Alex Lloyd, hosted lunch for the College’s Visiting Students (VS). This was an opportunity to celebrate the conclusion of a busy and exciting term, and to bid farewell to ten of our students who are returning to continue their studies at their home institutions. Our VS have been enjoying their time here so far, with praise for the welcoming community at St Edmund Hall, the opportunity to learn at a fast pace and to make new friends, and, of course, the extraordinarily high quality of the food.

Dr Lloyd thanked the Organising Tutors who coordinate the VS teaching, as well as the Visiting Student Junior Advisers, Kenta Sayama and James Altunkaya, who do superb work supporting the students through welcome events during Freshers’ Week and informal drop-in sessions across the academic year. The students also applauded the amazing work of the team in the College Office and the Admissions Office. Everyone in the office does so much work ‘behind the scenes’ to prepare for the students to come, to support them while they’re here, and to produce their final transcripts at the end of the year.

In Hilary Term the College will welcome seventeen new VS who will study here alongside our matriculated undergraduate students until the end of Trinity Term.
