We hope you enjoy your stay here. Our aim is to make your visit as pleasant as possible, so please do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions. The William R Miller Building is owned and operated by St Edmund Hall, one of Oxford’s 38 colleges. Further information about the Hall can be found at https://www.seh.ox.ac.uk/about.

There is no staffed reception at this property – please direct any queries to the St Edmund Hall Lodge. The Lodge can be found on Queen’s Lane, Oxford, OX1 4AR, and is staffed 24 hours a day. To contact the Lodge, please call 01865 279000 or email lodge@seh.ox.ac.uk; a phone is located in the entrance tunnel to enable you to call assistance should you require it. If you have any maintenance requests, housekeeping requests or general queries, please contact the Lodge in the first instance and they will be able to offer advice and support.

Please note that for the safety and security of the premises and its users, CCTV is in operation.

Fire and Emergencies

For your safety and convenience, please read the information in your room relating to the procedures in case of fire and other emergencies. Your assembly point will be outside the front of the building in Dawson Street.

For non-emergency assistance, please call the Lodge at Queen’s Lane on 01865 279000. A phone is located in the lobby to enable you to call assistance should you require it.

We operate a no-smoking policy throughout the premises, including the inner quad.

Your Key

When leaving your room, please ensure that you have your key with you. The front gate is access-controlled and you will need your key to gain access back into the building.

Your Room

We hope that you will find your room comfortable and well furnished.

We are trying to do our bit when it comes to our operational impact on the environment and ask that you join us in helping to achieve this. Our housekeeping staff will not change your towels if you have hung them up; if you would like your towels to be changed, please leave them on the floor of your ensuite.

Check-out

Check-out is 10.00am on the day of departure. Late departures will be charged at the full daily rate. Please remember to check your room for belongings before departure.

Please leave your key in the key box located in the tunnel near to the office.

We regret that there are no facilities available for luggage storage.

Wi-Fi

To access Wi-Fi during your stay, please select the network labelled SEH GUEST from your device settings, and follow the instructions in your browser.

For internet connection problems, and all IT-related enquiries, please contact the IT Office by emailing help@seh.ox.ac.uk, 8:00–16:00 Monday to Friday.

Valuables

Please note that we can accept no responsibility for guests’ valuables.

Laundry

There are launderette and ironing facilities on the premises.

Guest Conduct

We want everyone at the William R Miller Building to be in a safe and secure environment, including our staff. Any guest showing antisocial behaviour or being verbally abuse towards staff, other guests or our immediate neighbours, or participating in criminal activity, will be asked to leave, and if necessary be escorted from the premises by the police.

Out and About

Please ask at the Lodge if you would like any information about places to see or visit in or around Oxford. In addition, there is an events noticeboard on the ground floor and the City Sightseeing Oxford Visitor Information Point can be found at 44–45 High Street, just a 10-minute walk from here towards the city centre.

In terms of local transport, the William R Miller Building is just a five-minute bus or taxi ride to the city centre, or a pleasant 10–15-minute walk. Buses run frequently and can be found on either St Clements or the Cowley Road. If you are travelling back from the city centre by bus, the nearest bus-stops are on St Clements and Circus Street on Cowley Road (depending on which bus is taken).
