Choirs
The Choir of St Edmund Hall is open to all members of College and entry does not require a formal audition, other than for Choral Scholars and Choral Exhibitioners. Student-led choirs at Teddy Hall also form from time to time to sing a capella versions of popular songs and to perform at concerts and at Carols in the Quad.
Teddy Hall’s Got Talent
The annual competition has now become something of an institution and always attracts plenty of musical talent.
Lunchtime Concerts
The Teddy Hall Music Society usually organises several lunchtime concerts each term, which are open to the public and free of charge. The recitals last around 45 minutes and usually take place in the Old Dining Hall or the Chapel.
Carols in the Quad
This is a popular annual event, held just before the start of the Christmas holiday in the Front Quad, with singing for all and performances from our college musicians.
Teddy Hall Music Society
The Society’s committee includes the Director of Music, the Arts & Culture Reps from the JCR (the College’s undergraduate student body), a representative from the MCR (the College’s postgraduate body) and the Organ Scholars. It organises a range of musical activities in College, such as jam sessions, open mic nights, Teddy Hall’s Got Talent, the lunchtime concert series and a termly, more formal, chamber music concert.
