The Chough Café is Oxford’s hidden gem set in the historic 12th century college garden at St Edmund Hall.

Serving barista-style coffee and freshly baked cakes, the café is open to both college members and the general public.

Locally Sourced Coffee

  • We offer a freshly roasted speciality coffee from Jericho Coffee Traders which gives superb flavour and maximum freshness.

Homemade Cakes

  • All our cakes are made by St Edmund Hall’s talented pastry chefs.

  • Monday-Friday: 9am-4pm
  • Saturday-Sunday: 9am-4pm (Summer vacation only)
Chough Cafe

Access

  • Entry to the Chough Café is via the main college entrance on Queen’s Lane, OX1 4AR.
  • The café is located to the left of the St Peter-in-the East Church/College Library entrance in the churchyard.
  • Indoor and outdoor seating is available all year round.

Discounts

  • 25% off for Hall members (with a Bodleian or Alumni card).
  • 15p off drinks for anyone who brings a reusable keep-cup with a lid.
