Last weekend, Alberto Garzoni and Matteo Rossi (2025, History and Visiting Student), President and Secretary General of the Associazzione Vincenzo Gioberti, visited the Hall to finalise plans for a choir tour to Italy in December 2026, at the generous invitation of the society.

St Edmund Hall’s Choir will headline the ‘Voce delle Pievi’ festival in Brescia from the 5–15 December 2026, which aims to bring English and local musical and poetic traditions together in rural churches, as part of the Association’s community-focused cultural programme.

“It was such a delight to welcome Matteo and Alberto back to the Hall, for them to meet the choir and discuss plans for the choir tour to Brescia in December”, says Director of Music Carlos Rodriguez Otero.

“Alberto and Matteo have worked tirelessly to offer a tremendously exciting and ambitious musical project for the Choir and Hall, and to obtain the necessary support. I am very much looking forward to going to Brescia with the choir and contributing to the fantastic work of the ‘Voce delle Pievi’ festival.”

The Choir were overjoyed to learn of the news and expressed particular enthusiasm when they learned that they would be staying right on the shores of Lake Garda!
