Associate Professorship in Physical Geography

The School of Geography and the Environment and St Edmund Hall propose to appoint an Associate Professor in Physical Geography with Official Tutorial Fellowship.
This post is available from 1 Septemberl 2023, or at an earlier or later date by negotiation. The appointment will initially be for five years at which point, upon completion of a successful review, the post holder will be eligible for reappointment to retirement age.
The person appointed will be expected to engage in advanced research in Physical Geography and to give high-quality lectures, classes and small-group teaching in Geography at both undergraduate and graduate level. The appointee is expected to have expertise and a strong research interest in biogeography, macroecology or closely cognate fields in the terrestrial or marine ecological sciences, and research and teaching experience in field and/or laboratory work.
Salary range: £50,300 – £67,541 p.a. plus additional College benefits including a housing allowance of £11,000 per annum. An additional salary payment of £2,931 per annum would be payable upon award of the title of full Professor (without change to the duties of the post).
