Associate Professorship of Political Theory

The Department of Politics and International Relations and St Edmund Hall propose to appoint an Associate Professor of Political Theory with Official Tutorial Fellowship.
This post is available from 1 September 2024, or as soon as possible thereafter. The appointment is permanent upon completion of successful review. The review is conducted during the first five years.
The successful candidate will be expected to conduct advanced research; to teach, supervise, and examine in political theory at the undergraduate and graduate level; to play a part in the administrative work of the Department; to provide teaching and pastoral support for undergraduates reading Politics at St Edmund Hall; to share in the administrative work, act as a trustee for the College, and to act as a College adviser for graduate students (a first point of contact, distinct from actual thesis supervision). The post will be held in conjunction with a Tutorial Fellowship at St Edmund Hall. The post-holder shall be allocated an office in College for teaching.
Salary range: £51,306 – £68,892 p.a. plus additional College benefits including a housing allowance of £11,000 per annum. An additional salary payment of £2,930 per annum would be payable upon award of the title of full Professor.
