Molly
Deputy Head Butler

After working here at the Hall during my A-levels I left to work for a Boutique Hotel and Pub company, starting as a Restaurant Supervisor and progressing to Assistant Manager and Events Co-ordinator. I took some time out in 2018 to travel around America before coming ‘home’ to Teddy Hall and starting my role of Deputy Head Butler.
In my downtime I love baking and am very proud to be the reigning Teddy Hall Bake off Champion! In early 2021 I bought my first house so I’m spending a lot of time putting my own stamp on it to make it a home. I am also lucky enough to be a Godmother and Auntie so try and spend as much time as possible with the little people in my life, more often than not being forced into playing hide and seek or baking their birthday cakes!
It seems a bit odd to have positive memories from 2020, it goes without saying it was a tough year on all of us but I look back and feel very proud of the work we did that year, not just in the catering department but all over the Hall. In December 2020 we really wanted to be able to do the JCR and MCR Christmas dinners and the only way we could, safely, was to do 6 Christmas dinners over 6 consecutive nights. It was a tough week but it was so worth it to see everyone being able to enjoy themselves and celebrate getting through the year together!
My Mum’s (who also work at the Hall) 50th birthday and mine and my brother’s 21st’s were all celebrated here at the Hall- they were all fantastic parties! I think us wanting to celebrate our big milestones here goes to show how special the Hall is to our family.
What do you think when you hear ‘Women of the Hall’? What does the Hall mean to you?
This is quite literally my second home- I’m grateful I get to work with some brilliant, hardworking and funny women, my Mum being one of them! There is no doubt that the Hall is a friendly and inclusive environment and one that I feel very lucky to be a part of.
