A Brief History of Lesbian Fashion – Talk by Eleanor Medhurst

Event

A brief history of lesbian fashion

We are delighted to welcome Eleanor Medhurst, author and historian of queer visual and material culture, to Teddy Hall for a lecture exploring lesbian fashion over the past two hundred years.

From Anne Lister to the 1970s activist group the Lavender Menace, this talk considers how clothing and self-expression can illuminate often overlooked or misremembered histories, drawing on paintings, photographs, letters and diaries to reflect on their significance past and present.

All members of the College community are warmly welcome.
