Preacher bio:

Will was ordained in London in 2000, serving his curacy in Staines and a second curacy at St Mary Abbots, Kensington. He was Vicar of Redbourn from 2006 to 2022 and in that time also served as a trustee for seven charities and organisations, for five years as Rural Dean, and served for six years on General Synod. In September 2022 he was appointed Canon for Mission and Pastoral Care at St Albans Cathedral. He is currently the Chair of the House of Clergy and he also chairs the Verulam House Fund Trust, serves on the Diocesan Board of Patronage and captains the Diocesan Cricket Team.

This week’s preacher is the Rev’d Liam Cartwright, Assistant Curate in the Cowley Team Ministry.

He is a Trustee of On Fire Mission, an inclusive network, rooted in the Church of England, and open to all, which is dedicated to promoting Charismatic renewal blended with the riches of Catholic spirituality.

Prior to Ordination, Liam enjoyed a career as an Organist, Choral Director and Teacher. He has held a variety of teaching posts, was Director of Music at High Wycombe Parish Church for over ten years, and has given organ recitals at major venues including St. Paul’s Cathedral and Westminster Abbey.

Liam is passionate about equality, social justice, sacramental worship and excellence in music and liturgy.
