The Week 6 recital (Saturday 1 March) will feature some Baroque entertainment: a sonata à tre by George Frideric Handel, a trio sonata for horn, tenor, and basso continuo by Georg Philipp Telemann, and his “Canary Cantata”, a mini mock-opera which mourns the death of a canary in different styles. The musicians will be Déirdre Hollingsworth (cello), Henrike Lähnemann (horn/voice), Oliver Riordan (recorder), Carlos Rodríguez Otero (basso continuo), who will be joined for the cantata by Maeve Hogarty (viola), and Claire Nichols (flute).
