Are you curious about the human mind? St Edmund Hall’s Centre for the Creative Brain is proud to welcome Dr Rahul Jandial, renowned neurosurgeon, neuroscientist, and humanitarian, for a fascinating and unique evening exploring the human mind with insights from brain surgery on conscious patients.
Dr Rahul Jandial is a dual-trained surgeon and researcher. As a surgeon in Los Angeles, he provides complex (neuro)surgical treatment to patients with cancer. His research and laboratory (Jandial Lab) investigates the biology of cancer metastasis to the brain with academic publications in journals including Neurosurgery, Nature Medicine, and Proceeding from the National Academy of Sciences. Dr Jandial has also authored 10 books, covering topics ranging from Neurosurgery to Neuroscience and cancer biology.
In addition to an accomplished medical and academic career, Dr Jandial is a true humanitarian, founding and directing the non-profit International Neurosurgical Children’s Association (INCA) whose aim is to improve the standard of brain surgery provided to disadvantaged children in developing nations across Central and South America, Southeast Asia, Africa, and Eastern Europe.
