On 16 November, over 60 Aularians from North America and further afield gathered for the 34th annual New York Dinner. The event provided the first opportunity for the new Principal Professor Kathy Willis to meet alumni in the US. Thank you to all Aularians who braved the snow and made Kathy feel so welcome.

As well as seeing many familiar faces, it was a pleasure to welcome many newcomers, including a good number of recent graduates.

The Principal’s speech was warmly received as Professor Willis spoke of her delight at joining the Hall, her first few weeks meeting students and alumni, and plans for the future. Amongst the many who responded by offering a warm welcome to the new Principal was William R Miller (1949, PPE) who founded the New York Dinner and has attended all 34 years.

We hope to welcome many new faces again next year so please do look out for a save the date in the New Year.

Many thanks to Justus O’Brien (1979, PPE) who hosted the dinner and Bill Broadbent, Bob Gaffey and Nick Howard for all their help in making a successful evening.
