St Edmund Hall is set to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III and Camilla. The College has planned a series of events to mark this historic occasion.

On Saturday 6 May, students can watch the coronation via livestream during the student brunch. The coronation ceremony will be broadcast live from Westminster Abbey and will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

The following day, Sunday 7 May, the Hall will host a Themed Formal Hall celebration in honour of King Charles III. The dining hall will be decorated with flags and other royal regalia, and the meal will be accompanied by appropriate music.

College Librarian and Fellow, James Howarth, has written a blog about the Hall’s connection to the British Monarchy. In the blog, he investigates what connection he could find between Teddy Hall and the Coronations of the last 350 years. This blog is an insightful and informative read for anyone interested in the history of St Edmund Hall.

The College library team is also holding an exhibition ‘King and Aularian Things’ about the Hall’s connection with the British Monarchy in the Old Library on  Sunday 7 May and Monday 8 May. This exhibition is open to the public, and entry is free. Visitors can explore the rich history of St Edmund Hall and its relationship with the monarchy.

The College is looking forward to a joyful and celebratory weekend as it marks the coronation of King Charles III and Camilla.
