Our Admissions & Outreach Manager and Access & Outreach Coordinator led our week-long St Edmund Hall Roadshow, visiting schools across our College’s link regions.

This year, our Outreach Team travelled all over the East Midlands, visiting schools from Buxton to Leicestershire. The team were supported by four of our fantastic Student Ambassadors: Leila Osbourne-Millar (2023, German), Lucy Robinson (2023, Biomedical Sciences), Nicholas Bale (2023, Law), Alexander Berresford (2022, Engineering Science).

Together, they engaged with over 700 students, ranging from Year 10 to Year 13, across 10 different schools in our college’s link region. The team delivered interactive critical thinking workshops with KS5 student, as well as Oxbridge application support for those applying for 2026 entry. Luke and Elisha also gave talks to KS4 and KS5 students that covered a range of topics. These included A-level Choices Support, Student Finance, as well as sessions ‘Introducing Oxbridge’, both demystifying the universities and outlining how to make a competitive application.

Elisha, St Edmund Hall’s Access & Outreach Coordinator, said:

“The Roadshow is such a rewarding week, as it’s one of the few times in the year where we get to meet so many students in our link regions face-to-face. Bringing Oxford directly to the schools we visited helps make the idea of university, and Oxford in particular, feel much more real and achievable for their pupils. Our Student Ambassadors play such an important role in that, sharing their own experiences and getting the chance to talk about what life is like at Teddy Hall is really like.”

One of our Student Ambassadors, Lelia, reflected on the roadshow:

“The Outreach Roadshow this year was an incredible experience, and I am so grateful to have been able to be a part of it! Getting to speak to prospective students across different years was brilliant, and having the opportunity to be able to both explain why I love being at Oxford (and Teddy Hall!) and help support students with their own applications was so rewarding. Being able to engage in conversations with pupils about university life and some of the myths and ideas surrounding Oxford in particular was a truly full-circle moment, as they were all worries I had had before attending and could now help to dispel with personal experience. It really was a brilliant week getting to travel around the country to talk about the college that we all love so much!”
