The St Edmund Hall community is deeply saddened at the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We join everyone in the UK and around the world in mourning the longest serving UK monarch and greatly admire the incredible legacy she leaves behind.
In 1957, Queen Elizabeth granted St Edmund Hall its Royal Charter of incorporation as a college at the University of Oxford, which marked a significant turning point in the College’s history. The Duke of Edinburgh presented it to the Hall on 6 June 1958.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Royal Family at this time.
