Last Sunday afternoon, SEHBbC dominated a combined side from Green Templeton and St Anthony’s to win 2018’s Basketball Cuppers tournament. With many combined college teams in the tournament, a single college winning it all seemed unlikely, but this year’s Hall side was simply dominant.

In a cagey opening frame, the opposition could not handle the energy of the Hall on the inside, fouling and encountering the ire of the referees with their subsequent audible frustration. Despite a massive Prescott-Cornejo dunk early on to energise the side, some rough shooting from the Hall coupled with the opposition’s accuracy from deep meant that Teddy Hall could never really pull away in the first half, allowing the opposition to remain in touching distance going into the half.

The second half would be a different story, however, and with the opposition flagging the Hall began to assert their dominance. After a rough start to the game, Andrew Older found his shot from deep whilst Logan Dandridge and Prescott-Cornejo got to the rim at will to convert multiple and-ones. With a combination of energy off the bench and quality players feeling free to play their game, Teddy Hall were simply unstoppable. With seemingly every shot falling, the lead ballooned and the Hall came out on top as convincing 74-49 winners to crown themselves as Cuppers champions.
