Jake Tommasi

JCR President (2024–25)

Jake is a second-year History student. He was elected as JCR President at the end of Michaelmas term 2024.

I’m Jake, a second-year undergraduate historian and the JCR’s President for 2025. You can find me around Oxford getting involved in the University’s karate team or, even better, engrossed in the many college sports we excel in. There’s such a lovely atmosphere at Teddy Hall, so it’s really great to get stuck in, whether it is playing or supporting from the sidelines. I am thrilled to be the President of the JCR this year because it’s so rewarding to be able to contribute to the continued success of a thriving community. It is great fun to be involved in organising and coordinating all the clubs, sports teams, events and funds we have running, and even better to witness that treasured Hall spirit in action!

In his role as President, Jake’s main responsibility is representing the undergraduate student body to senior members of the College, as well as to various University-wide committees. He also works with the JCR Committee on the organisation of social and welfare activities around College, and is always available to listen to any suggestions or requests, or any other changes the students would like to see to Hall life. If you are a student who wants to effect change, you can contact Jake at jcr.president@seh.ox.ac.uk. You can also (and are encouraged to!) submit motions at one of the three termly general meetings of the JCR, where undergraduates discuss and vote upon motions which decide how College life is organised in the JCR.
