James C. C. Mays
Jim Mays (1957) is Emeritus Professor of Modern English and American poetry at University College Dublin.
He has published extensively on Coleridge, and is well known in the field of Romantic Studies, especially for his magisterial edition of Coleridge’s poetry in the Princeton Collected Coleridge.
Jim has published Coleridge’s Experimental Poetics (Palgrave Macmillan in 2013) and describes it as ‘the alternative, more personal and critical introduction that I didn’t include in the Bollingen edition: a bundle of still incomplete thoughts about what the whole heap of material adds up to.’

He also specialises in bibliography and textual theory, and has published on many modernist and contemporary writers including W.B. Yeats, Tom Raworth, Jack Spicer, Lorine Niedecker and Ian Hamilton Finlay.
