Melanie Brickell

Academic Records Manager

Melanie joined the Hall in January 2006, having completed her BSc (Hons) in Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Glamorgan in 2005. She thoroughly enjoyed her degree as she was able to learn not only the theory but was also able to take options in Forensic Science. For various reasons, Melanie was unable to enter a career in Criminology but, having loved education and learning all of her life, Oxford University seemed a good option as a workplace where she could be on the other side looking after students.

Melanie works in the College Office, seeing students through their studies from enrolment to their degree ceremony. She administers start of term Collections, Undergraduate and Graduate Principal’s Collections, the processing of tutorial reports and reports for Visiting Student transcripts, plus student feedback exercises, as well as managing student records, and organising Schools Dinners in Trinity Term.

Whilst being at the Hall Melanie has achieved several life milestones, having married in 2013 and then become a proud mum of two girls. When she’s not juggling the demands of work and motherhood, she loves travelling, swimming, country and coastal walking, London theatre productions, entertaining friends and baking.

Melanie works part-time and is usually here on a Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
