Friends of the Boat Club

Friends of the Boat Club give support to the Boat Club through advice, funding, equipment and coaching; indeed every piece of equipment currently in the Boat House has been provided with help from the Friends and from Jones Day, the Boat Club’s former sponsors, and the Hall now is one of the best-equipped boat clubs on the Isis.

Rowing is a very expensive sport and anything that Friends can do to generate funds will be greatly appreciated by the Hall.

We hope that every Hall rower will become a Friend of St Edmund Hall Boat Club: in the year after going down membership remains at the student rate and thereafter an annual donation of £25 (or more if you can afford it) can be paid by standing order. Donations also benefit from Gift Aid tax relief (available to UK taxpayers only).

The Friends are managed by a small committee of Aularians who meet at least once every term at the Hall with the current Captains of Boats. We also organise an Annual Dinner, usually held in the Old Dining Hall, on the Friday of 1st week in Michaelmas Term.
