St Edmund Hall congratulates Professor David Dupret, River Farm Foundation Tutorial Fellow in Neuroscience, on being appointed Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques (Knight in the Order of the Academic Palms) by the French Republic.
The Ordre des Palmes Académiques is one of France’s oldest civil honours, originally established by Napoleon I in 1808. It recognises individuals who have made exceptional contributions to education, science, and culture, as well as to the promotion of the French language and intellectual life both in France and internationally.
Professor Dupret’s award acknowledges his pioneering research on the mechanisms of memory within his programme at the Medical Research Council Brain Network Dynamics Unit, University of Oxford. It also celebrates his dedication to advancing academic excellence and fostering international collaboration through his engagement with the Maison Française d’Oxford.
The College warmly congratulates Professor Dupret on this prestigious achievement and his continued contributions to science and education at both national and international levels.
