Teddy Hall reach University Challenge semi-finals
14 Mar 2019
A victory in their second quarter-final means that Teddy Hall have successfully made it through to the semi-finals of University Challenge! Congratulations to the Hall’s team of Marceline Bresson (2017, Economics and Management), Lizzie Fry (2015, Geography), Freddy Leo (2016, History) and Agastya Pisharody (2017, Materials Science).
The game, against Bristol, was broadcast on BBC2 last Monday. After a tense 10 minutes where Bristol took a 95 lead over Teddy Hall’s -5, the team seemed to find their rhythm and made a remarkable comeback with the final scoreboard reading 150-130.
Fingers crossed for their next match. In the words of Nigel Clarke (1966, Modern Languages), “…please ask them, in the interests of the health of an alumnus aged 71¼, to race into a lead in the semi-final…”.
If you have not yet had a chance to watch the episode, it is now available on BBC iPlayer.
