Teddy Hall students to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for charity
23 Jan 2026
Five Teddy Hall Freshers, Ben Dawson (2025, Earth Sciences), Mabel Young (2025, Gepgraphy), Rishi Shukla (2025, Economics and Management), Lily Walters (2025, Medicine) and Saskia Zainchkovskay (2025, Engineering Science), are undertaking an extraordinary challenge: climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, in support of Amnesty International. They are part of a larger group of 39 Oxford students from 22 colleges bringing together undergraduates and postgraduates for this incredible cause.
The climb will test them physically and mentally with altitude, extreme conditions and sustained endurance over several days. In parallel, each student is aiming to raise £4,970, making this a significant collective fundraising target for Amnesty International’s vital work defending human rights worldwide.
Any support — big or small — from our Hall community would be hugely appreciated by our students.
