Fizza Zaidi

JCR President (2023-24)

Fizza is a second-year English Language and Literature student and loves being at Teddy.

I’m Fizza, a second-year English undergraduate at Teddy Hall. When I’m not in the library reading, I can be found pretty much anywhere in college mid-conversation, whether that’s in the JCR or the dining hall. If I’m not in college, I’m probably sipping a hot chocolate in Knoops or dashing off to the Odeon down the road. I’m really looking forward to being the JCR president and giving back to the place I’ve come to know and love and its people, as well as working with college to ensure everyone’s getting the most out of the Hall and everything it has to offer – clubs, socials, funds and, of course, Hall spirit. Very excited for what’s to come!

In her role as President, Fizza’s main responsibility is representing the undergraduate student body to senior members of the College, as well as to various University-wide committees. She also works with the JCR Committee on the organisation of social and welfare activities around College, and is always available to listen to any suggestions or requests, or any other changes the students would like to see to college life. If you are a student who wants to effect change, you can contact Fizza at jcr.president@seh.ox.ac.uk. You can also (and are encouraged to!) submit motions at one of the three termly general meetings of the JCR, where undergraduates discuss and vote upon motions which decide how College life is organised in the Junior Common Room.
