Sophie Jai
Sophie Jai is a novelist whose first fiction novel Wild Fires will be published in 2021.
Sophie was a Visiting Fellow and Writer in Residence at St Edmund Hall and TORCH during Hilary 2020. Following a writing residency at Sangam House in India, Sophie completed her novel in March 2020 at SEH. She is the 2019-20 Artist in Residence at the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies, where she is conducting research for Wild Fires, a Trinidad and Toronto-set story that was awarded the 2019 Borough Press and The Good Literary prize.
Sophie was born and raised in Trinidad before moving to Toronto, where she studied at York University, University of Toronto, and the Humber School for Writers. She currently lives in London, UK.
