Chapel Choir

The Chapel Choir is directed by the Director of Music and the Organ Scholars. It is made up of around 20 people including eight Choral Scholars, and sings at weekly services and on other occasions.

The choir is non-auditioning and very sociable. They rehearse every Saturday morning from 10:30am to 12 noon, and on Sunday afternoon from 3.30pm. During term-time, they sing at the Sunday service (usually at 5:30pm) in the College Chapel, and then eat at Formal Hall (free of charge for choir members) afterwards.

The choir is also very active outside Chapel and has performed at various events over the past year including at the St Edmund’s Feast dinner and various Christmas dinners. Recent tours have seen them travel to France and Poland.

Our current Organ Scholars are Viraj Alimchandani and Hagen Papenburg (organ.scholar@seh.ox.ac.uk).

Students interested in joining the choir should contact Christopher Bucknall, Director of Music (director.music@seh.ox.ac.uk).
