Alumni Events in Oxford, Munich, Hong Kong and Singapore
21 Apr 2026
The end of March and beginning of April was an exceptionally busy period for the Development and Alumni Relations Office, which hosted six alumni events across four countries in just thirteen days.
On the 19 March, the Deputy Director of Development, Tom Sprent, travelled to Munich for an alumni drinks reception in the Nymphenburg district, kindly hosted at the home of Florian Seubert (1995, PPE). This was an enjoyable evening for all attendees and the College’s first alumni event in Germany, reflecting ongoing efforts to connect with Aularians worldwide.
Back at Queen’s Lane, the Principal hosted a Gaudy for 2008-2010 matriculands on the 20 March. Nearly 100 Aularians returned to the College for a lively evening of dinner and drinks, catching up with old friends and reminiscing on their time as students while hearing updates from the College.
A week later, we hosted a new event, A Celebration of Teddy Hall Sport. The evening began with a drink’s reception and exhibition in the Old Library showcasing the rich history of sport at the College as well as past Cuppers winning photos – featuring some of the evening’s attendees. Around 40 guests joined for an intimate dinner, hosted by Mark Blandford-Baker, Domestic Bursar & Senior Treasurer of Amalgamated Clubs. Alumni, Fellows, staff and guests from the wider University community came together to celebrate the College’s longstanding sporting successes and the recent achievement of the College winning the overall Cuppers trophy for the three consecutive seasons. A joyous evening was had long into the night where alumni shared stories of victories passed while celebrating the sporting students of today.
From 23-29 March, the Principal together with the Finance Bursar, Eleanor Burnett, Director of Development, Andrew Vivian and Deputy Director of Development, Tom Sprent travelled to Hong Kong and Singapore to meet with Alumni. This annual visit aims to grow and build the Aularian community in Asia while sharing updates on the College and our HALLmarks Campaign. On Wednesday 25 March, the group met for a drinks reception in Hong Kong, generously hosted by Charles Firth (1997, Chemistry) at The Helena May, where they were also joined by Emeritus Fellow Professor Adrian Briggs to meet with Aularians and their guests. Later that week, on Saturday 28 March, a final alumni event of the month was held in Singapore at the Writer’s Bar in Raffles Singapore.
This busy events period was ended with a wonderful 50 Anniversary Lunch at Queen’s Lane for our 1976 Matriculands on Wednesday 1 April. Attendees with their guests were treated to a drink’s reception in the Principal’s Lodgings, a three-course meal in the Old Dining Hall and were treated to a tour of the newly built accommodation at Norham Gardens, becoming some of the first people to see it in its completed state.
All events were well attended, and it was fantastic to reach and meet with so many alumni in such a short space of time. We are incredibly grateful to all those who joined us and took the time to reconnect with the Hall and we look forward to continuing to grow Teddy Hall’s global community.
