The College is proud to present our new 127 ensuite study room accommodation at Norham Gardens, based at our Norham St Edmund (NSE) site in North Oxford. The site comprises of three new buildings: the Willis Building, Ashton House and Elliott House constructed to Passivhaus certification (the industry gold standard for energy efficiency) and a modernisation of the Victorian villa, Dunbabin Lodge, at number 17.
This new development is an expansion of NSE which is a mix of several Victorian villas and new buildings at Norham Gardens, housing undergraduates and postgraduate students, and is around a twenty minutes’ walk from the College. The area is quiet and leafy, and backs onto the beautiful University Parks. Teddy Hall students have been living on this site since as far back as 1980 and regard it as a second community hub for Hall life.
Sustainability exemplar
We have worked with award winning architects to create new buildings that are highly energy efficient due to using sustainably sourced and low-embodied carbon materials, solar panels and air source heat pumps. There will also be climate resilient, biodiverse outside spaces consisting of an ecology pond, landscaped gardens and lawns.
Who can live here?
Second-year and third year students will live in the new buildings: Willis Building, Ashton House and Elliott House, and fourth-years will reside at the Victorian villa known as Dunbabin Lodge. All four buildings reside at 17 Norham Gardens, Oxford, OX2 6PS. You will live in six-to-eleven-person cluster flats with ensuites and kitchens, providing a comfortable and homely living area with views to the gardens and University Parks.
The new site also offers common rooms for students to study and socialise, laundry facilities and a reception area. We will also provide five fully accessible rooms and one adapted for the ambulant disabled to make sure that every student has what they need to feel at home and thrive.
