Aularian Lord Sedwill awarded a distinguished knighthood

St Edmund Hall congratulates Aularian and Honorary Fellow Mark, Lord Sedwill of Sherborne KCMG, Former Cabinet Secretary and National Security Adviser on being awarded the GCMG: Knight Grand Cross of the Order of St Michael and St George for services to British foreign policy, to National Security and HM Government.

Lord Sedwill matriculated at St Edmund Hall in 1987 to read an MPhil in Economics after four years at St Andrew’s University. He was taught by some of the world’s leading economists, including Steve Nickell, John Vickers and the late Jim Mirrlees. Mark became an Honorary Fellow at the Hall on 19 May 2021 and gave the inaugural Pontigny lecture on  ‘Global Governance in a Contested World’ on 16 June 2021.
