We are delighted to announce that the Churchyard project has been awarded a certificate in the Environmental and Landscape Enhancement category at this year’s Oxford Preservation Trust awards ceremony which took place on 7 November at St Catherine’s College. The awards celebrate and encourage good design which contributes positively to Oxford and its green setting.

The area containing the gardener’s office and bicycle racks was renovated last winter, a project that was expertly managed by our then Domestic Bursar, Jayne Taylor. It resulted in greatly-improved facilities for the gardener – including a greenhouse, office and garden equipment store.

A more general storage space was also created, as well as a new area for bicycles. The design was drawn up by architects Gray Baynes + Shew, with the work carried out by contractors Wooldridge & Simpson.
