New Hall Café to Open in the Spring
27 Jan 2026
St Edmund Hall will open a new café in the spring, following planning permission to convert the former gardener’s office and store into a welcoming new space for the Hall community and visitors.
The café will be situated in the churchyard of St-Peter-in-the-East to the left of the Library’s entrance with a mix of indoor and outdoor seating to make the most of the scenic setting the College’s 12th century church library. Barista-style coffee will be served alongside cakes, pastries and other baked goods prepared in the College kitchen by our talented pastry chefs Donatella Inchingolo and Kate Feeley.
The project represents a thoughtful repurposing of an existing building and responds to student requests for additional comfortable spaces to relax and study at the Hall. The new café is intended to be enjoyed by both members of the Hall and members of the public visiting the grounds. Further updates will be shared as the project progresses.
