David’s group is interested in the neurobiological mechanisms of learning and memory, and emotion. In particular, the lab investigates how different neurotransmitters and their receptors, and the plasticity between neurons might help us learn and remember. The lab is especially interested in how impairments in these neurobiological mechanisms might cause brain disorders such as schizophrenia, anxiety, depression and Alzheimer’s Disease. Furthermore, the group is also investigating the relationship between sleep and behaviour, again with a special interest in how these interactions might be disrupted in neuropsychiatric disorders.
