Professor David Priestland
Professor of Modern History and Tutor in Modern History
David Priestland is Vice-Principal of St Edmund Hall and Professor of Modern History, and is interested in the history of two of the most influential global ideologies of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, communism and market liberalism (‘neoliberalism’), especially in the communist and post-communist worlds.
In April 2023, David became the Vice-Principal of St Edmund Hall.
