Hampshire Oxbridge Roadshow

In the week commencing Monday 14 October, representatives from St Edmund Hall Oxford and Trinity College Cambridge will be visiting schools and colleges in Hampshire, Portsmouth, Southampton and the Isle of Wight. There will be sessions available for students starting to think about University in Year 10 and 11, an overview of the application process for Year 12 students, and a hands-on interview workshop for Year 13 students.

The sessions will be taking place at select ‘hub schools’ across the county. These are:

  • John Hanson School, Hampshire
  • Ringwood School, New Forest
  • Christ the King College, Isle of Wight
  • Oaklands Catholic School, Havant
  • Bay House School, Gosport
  • Barton Peveril Sixth Form, Eastleigh
  • St Anne’s Catholic School, Southampton

This presentation gives an overview of studying at Oxford and Cambridge, including information about: the cities; the universities and the colleges; courses; teaching and tutorials; some of the aspects of Oxford and Cambridge that set them apart from other universities; and advice on making competitive applications and the admissions process.

This talk is for students in Year 10 and 11.

This presentation covers an overview of the application process for students in Year 12. As well as this, the session highlights some of the aspects of Oxford and Cambridge that set them apart from other universities, and gives practical advice on how students can prepare over the following year in anticipation of applying.

This talk is for students in Year 12.

This workshop offers hands-on sessions covering the different aspects of the Oxbridge application process, including written work and admissions tests, and includes a group interview question to demonstrate the interview style that takes place at Oxford and Cambridge.

This workshop is for students in Year 13 who are in a position to make a competitive application to Oxford or Cambridge.
