How to make the most of your Long Vac
Careers
Starting to think about future careers? Want to make use of some of your time over the long vacation preparing for next steps and gaining some useful experience? Find out what you can do over summer to inform you career plans, build experience and make sure you hit the ground running in Michaelmas. The session will cover how to find last minute internships and other brilliant ways to use your summer break to explore your options and add to your CV. We’ll also look at how you can make creative use of your time to develop sought-after skills and start to think about career possibilities. Finally we’ll look ahead to the next academic year and how to make the most of the myriad of careers events and activities in Michaelmas Term.
Meet Dr Abby Evans from the University Careers Service to find out how to make the most of your (first) long vac. The session will take place at 4:30pm on Thursday 27 April (1st week) in the Doctorow Hall. Abby will provide an overview for around 40 minutes and then will be available to answer questions and chat informally.
This event will be useful both for first year students going into their second year, as well as second and third year students going into their final year.
